All Army Reservists receive tax-free pay. Put simply, it's income that goes straight in your pocket and won't affect any Government allowances you may be getting. You'll get paid during initial training, and whenever you're required for training, deployments or assistance missions. It's a great way to put yourself ahead financially.

Choose to go on deployment or an assistance mission and you'll get to travel around Australia and overseas. You might help to keep the peace abroad, take part in training exercises in Hawaii, or rebuild communities in places like flood-ravaged Queensland. In the Army Reserve, you'll be encouraged to stay fit with plenty of physical activity, military training and virtually any sport you can think of. During training, you'll work with qualified Army Physical Training Instructors to increase your core strength, cardio and endurance levels, at a pace that's challenging yet achievable. Think of it as the ultimate work out, without the costly gym memberships!
You'll be well looked after in the Army Reserve. There's free food and accommodation whenever you're out training, and if you need to travel to attend initial training, those expenses are covered too. Your uniform and the equipment you use is also provided free of charge. As you'll discover, life is good as a Reservist.
